$5.5 Million Mississippi Wrongful Death Suit Filed

The family of Bradley McElroy has filed a $5-and-a-half-million-dollar lawsuit against the city of Brandon, Mississippi. It’s linked to a deadly crash on November 9th of last year.

Nineteen-year-old McElroy was killed when a Brandon police cruiser struck his car while answering a burglary call. The accident occured on Highway 80.

Officer Justin MacLain was cleared of any wrong-doing.

Attorneys for the McElroy family tell WLBT the police tried to cover up the facts of the case.

The lawsuit was filed in U-S District Court, Southern District, in Jackson.
