AL Truck Causes 7 Vehicle Accident
Part of the northbound lane of the Tennessee River Bridge on I-65 was still closed Saturday morning after a 7 vehicle crash Friday night.
The wreck happened Friday night at about 9:00.
An 18 wheeler was dangling off the side of the bridge with the driver still in the cab.
Emergency crews used a ladder to rescue him.
According to State Troopers, There were only 2 injuries reported.
The right side of the north bound lane was re-opened at 4:00 Saturday morning.
The left lane remains closed because part of the guardrail is destroyed where the truck hit it.
The department of transportation was on the scene Saturday morning assessing the damage.
State Troopers who worked the scene say one lane will be closed all day Saturday so crews can work on the guard rail.
There is no word on how long that might take. Officials say drivers should use extra caution driving over that bridge.
