Convicted Neb. killer settles wrongful-death suit
The estate of a 30-year-old Lincoln woman killed by her husband has settled its wrongful-death suit against him.
In a court filing earlier this week, the estate of Rhapsody Ziemann dismissed the lawsuit filed in August 2009 against Mark Ziemann.
In December, the now-50-year-old Mark Ziemann was sentenced to 40-50 years in prison for killing Rhapsody in Lincoln in December 2007.
In the lawsuit, the estate was acting on behalf of Rhapsody’s daughter, who was 5 when her mother was killed. It sought nearly $8,400 in funeral expenses and an unspecified amount for damages and legal expenses.
Mark Ziemann’s attorney Christine Lustgarten said Friday that the lawsuit was settled for more than $100,000, which includes money that will go in a trust for the girl.
